How Beautiful

Today I keep hearing the song "How beautiful is the body of Chirst." I have been the recipient of this beauty in so many wonderful ways in preparation for this trip to Spain. Today was the culmination of it all. On Wednesday, we had our final team meeting and got a report of the support that each person raised. I had not raised all of my support but I was so grateful that as a team we met our goal. Praise God for allowing me to go!

A few weeks ago, however, when I was only a third of the way there I prayed and asked God to confirm that He had called me to go on this trip by allowing me to raise the portion allotted for each team member. As you can imagine, I was a little disappointed to see that I didn't meet the goal. As I thought about it, I was just grateful that other people's gifts allowed me to be able to go on the trip.

Through this journey, I realized that it wasn't a money thing, it was more of having folks on board cheering from the sidelines and knowing that people were excited about me going and were supportive through prayer or financially. More than the money is the support of friends and family.

This morning I was so blessed by confirmation after confirmation that yes God has called me to this trip for this time. It all began at 7:45 with our UpStreet staff praying over me. Every person that I work with prayed specifically for this journey. Each prayer was rich and precious to me! It was such a sweet send off for which I am so grateful. As the day progressed volunteers and friends followed suit with their well wishes.

When I went to church with Ian, I bawled through the entire worship set. Specifically the lyrics "my Savior he can move the mountains, my God is mighty to save, he is mighty to save." All I could think of was God, please move the mountains that separate the residents of Sevilla from you. Move the mountains that separate Spain from you, move the mountains that separate Western Europe from you and please God move the mountains that separate the world from you. Tonight I am so overjoyed that I get to be a light for Him in a place that I've never been before and in a place that I may never return. For all of you who have wished me well, prayed for me and even given to allow me to serve in this way, I just want to say thank you.

On the way out of church today one of my volunteers stopped me with a check for 200 dollars. That is more than what was needed to meet my goal. YAY God! How beautiful is that!

Check out spainupdates.blogspot.com for information on our travels. I will update if I can but I think our internet will be limited.

Praise God from whom all blessings flow! That is such an awesome testimony. I love the way God takes care of EVERYTHING in His timing.
