So...Here's the deal. I leave for the beach next Saturday and if I can lose 1.2 lbs by then I will have reached the goal that I set for myself. Doesn't seem like a lot of weight, but for the past 2 weeks I've kinda plataued and have lost less than 1 lb per week. I am posting this as a way to stay motivated. To finish the task at hand. Once I reach the 15 lb mark, weight watchers' goal is for me to lose 9 more pounds. We'll have to see about that :-). Okay..I'm off to...not eat :-).
A little bit about us. If you know the Chadwicks, things don't seem to stay the same for long. Hope you enjoy keeping up with our lives.

1.2lbs. to go
For the first time in a long time, I've almost reached a weight goal. It all started with my small group and our discussion of Richard Foster's book Celebration of Discipline. During the chapter on simplicity we discussed our addictions. Foster defined it by saying "you watch for undisciplined compulsions" as a guide to figuring out what you may be addicted to. That was a no brainer for me. FOOD. I have never used food for fuel but have always used it to feed my soul :-). Sad...eat, happy....eat, frustrated...eat, bored...eat. You get the picture. After confessing to my small group I set out on a way to figure out how to shed some pounds. Unlike other times, I prayed and invited God to be a part of this from the beginning. I knew from past failings that I could not do it on my own. A number of people around me were doing weight watchers so I decided to join on line and see if it could help me too. I got serious about my commitment to finish the Peachtree and started training at least 3 days per week. The only thing that I can say that has gotten me to this point is truly the Lord. I LOVE cheeseburgers, french fries and milkshakes. WWatchers has taught me that sometimes I can have those things but not everyday. I have by no means arrived. I mean just yesterday I had a huge ice cream sandwich, that I didn't need and washed it down with a cookie at home. Through lots of prayer and kind words from friends and family I've gotten this far.

Beth,
That is SO AWESOME! Way to go girl. You can stay with it and lose that last little bit. Every time that hand goes to your mouth, say a little prayer, and ask Him to help you know if you need that food.
What an inspiration you are to all of us.
Fabulous!
Kathy
